Darsen D. Lu

Darsen D. Lu

Associate Professor
Department of Electrical Engineering
National Cheng Kung University
Biography:

Darsen D. Lu received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering with special honors from National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2005, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2007 and 2011, respectively. His Ph.D. work focused on compact models for multiple-gate CMOS, which led to the creation of industry standard compact models for FinFETs (BSIM-CMG) and UTB-SOI devices (BSIM-IMG). From 2011 to 2015, he was with IBM Research, Yorktown Heights, NY, USA, where he was involved with research and development for 14nm, 10nm and 7nm CMOS technologies, as well as 20nm phase change memory, with an emphasis on TCAD-based device design and process development. He is currently a Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, R.O.C. His current research focuses on ferroelectric memory technologies, including the fabrication, characterization, modeling, and design of ferroelectric FinFETs, and non-volatile SRAM. His research team specializes in the application of ferroelectric memory technology towards computing-in-memory and neuromorphic computing. He is currently a senior member of IEEE. He is a recipient of the 2018 Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association’s Young Faculty Award.
